Todd was a wonderful, kind person. He was one of the best friends of my twin brothers, Adam & Shane. Todd died the morning after Adam & Shane's 18th birthday. I had just spent quite a bit of time with him at the beginning of February talking about all of his plans for the future. I wanted to put up a small tribute to his life. His life and his death effected more people than I doubt any one knows.

SEATAC -- One teen-ager was killed and another suffered minor injuries when a compact car veered off Military Road South and slammed into a utility pole yesterday morning. The passenger, 17-year-old Todd Giboney of Tukwila, died about an hour after the accident.
The driver, a 19-year-old man who complained of back pains after the collision, was admitted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was held for observation of possible abdominal injuries and listed in satisfactory condition last night.
King County Sheriff's detectives believe speed and alcohol were factors in the accident. The driver faces a possible charge of vehicular homicide, a Sheriff's Office spokesman said.
An autopsy yesterday afternoon found that Giboney died of multiple internal injuries and also suffered fractured ribs in the accident shortly before 4 a.m., according to a spokesman for the King County Medical Examiner's Office.
Giboney was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died shortly after 5 a.m.
Yesterday afternoon, skid marks and the shattered remains of a street sign showed where the car veered from the southbound lane of Military Road South, crossed the northbound lane and then struck a utility pole near South 173rd Street.
The battered car had been towed away hours earlier. A colorful balloon shaped like a butterfly fluttered from the utility pole, not far from the broken pieces of the street sign.
Giboney's sister, Kate Spears, came to the intersection with her husband, Brett Spears, but did not want to talk about her brother. She stood in silence for several minutes, taking in the scene, then embraced her husband.
Giboney had attended Chinook Middle School for two years, then enrolled at Tyee High School in September 1998, said Catherine Carbone Rogers, a spokeswoman for the Highline School District.
The teen withdrew from Tyee last May, then re-enrolled about two weeks ago, Carbone Rogers said.
A crisis team and counselors were available at the high school yesterday for students and staff who wanted to talk about the accident and Giboney's death.
The accident remained under investigation and few details were released later yesterday.
Sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said the compact car was heavily damaged."The vehicle appears to have impacted the pole on the passenger's side,'' he said.
