Anger

by Sheye Blaze

Blackness enshrouds me hiding the reason
hiding the me inside
I feel It reaching out spiking from my fingertips
Shining brightly in the darkness.
Pride feeds it; lies enhance it.
Nothing turns it back.
It takes me to places I’ve never been
It steals controls I’ve always had
It takes me and turns me inside out
for everyone to see.
The spikes grow larger
it leaks from the holes in my soul
Sound spilling forth too loudly to be love
Confusion invades stealing dignity and life
Lashing out with deadly accuracy
Hurting those around me with the
Anger that is borne from within
Power seeping out the edges,
burning the goodness and
turning the light red

I taste the fear and feel the pain.
Reason returning in a flood of clarity.

Dear god, what damage have I wreaked?
