Dreams of Another Life

Nightmares subsiding, sleep enclosing me
but not as tightly as your arms
The world fading into black
As sleep claims me once more

Even alone and dreaming,
there is another world in them
I live another life with you
Where indeed I am your wife

I dream so vividly with your influence
Why do I dream of being your wife?
Why do I dream of having your child?
Why do I dream of things not possible, here?

Domestic dreams that almost frighten me
A place where I am happy being yours
Happy being what I do not want to be

I know that we would have an outlet
for the darkness that hides within us both
Although, I have not seen that yet
