Pride

i live in a place that is famous
for it's leftist ways, it's liberalism
yet, still, bigotry breeds here
we hate, because we need to feel superior
does it make you feel better to laugh at others
does it make you feel better about your faith
to condemn those who do not follow yours or even
those who follow but do not subscribe to your mandates
do you really think that it pleases God
would He look down at us all and say
that you are being most Godly with
your contempt, your pride, your arrogance
God Loves us all, the sinner, the Lover
the innocent, and, yes, He Loves even the heretic
the mother, the son, the daughter, the father
He Loves those who have not yet found Him
Love furthers God; Love does His work
whose work does hatred do
whose path do you follow when you throw stones
at the prostitutes that He Loved and wanted to save
i am queer
i am black
i am straight
i am a jew
i am mexican
i am a sinner
i am a muslim
i am devout
i am Love
i am everything that is human
i am the image of God
God Loves me as He Loves you
whose work do you choose to do?
